In Summer 2024, Dal Legal Aid launched a new Eviction Prevention Program (EPP) for community allies and service providers. This program provides free, accessible public education about evictions and residential tenancy issues to avoid preventable or illegal evictions. Service providers, community groups, and groups of tenants are encouraged to become Partners in this program by hosting a workshop or information session.

As part of this program, in-person workshops and information sessions are available to groups within the HRM, and virtual presentations can be arranged for groups across the province. These workshops are available free to service providers who work with people facing housing and tenancy insecurity and to community groups (including informal groups of tenants and tenant unions) who are directly impacted by the housing crisis.
